description

The scheme involves re-developing a Grade II listed building creating flexible and inspiring learning space that balances heritage and new build. The building is to be refurbished throughout delivering a high quality building for the provision of training classrooms, workshops for practical training, administrative offices and additional office space for management. The design is due to be issued at RIBA Stage 3 with the main contractor developing the scheme from RIBA Stage 4 to 6.

The all-inclusive project budget including professional fees, enabling works, FF&E and VAT is circa £2.5million gross. The current design provides a GIA circa 890m2. The ECMS building is due to open in June 2017.

The works will be procured under a JCT 2011 Intermediate Form of Contract with Contractors Design (Mezzanine floor / M&E / Staircase); with amendments that will be confirmed via addendum.

The Qualification section will be assessed on a pass/fail basis in accordance with the standard qualification questions implemented in PAS91.

The requirements here include:

The successful Contractor must have a minimum of £10,000,000 Public Liability Insurance
The successful Contractor must have a minimum of £10,000,000 Employers Indemnity Insurance
The successful Contractor must have a minimum of £5,000,000 Professional Indemnity Insurance
The Tenderer must have a minimum annual turnover of £6 million.
The Tenderer must have a Credit Safe Score of ≥30.
The Tenderer must demonstrate a high standard of Business and Professional conduct and standing.
The Tenderer must demonstrate that their organisation has procedures in place to prevent bribery in line with the Bribery Act 2010.
The Tenderer must demonstrate that their organisation has procedures in place to ensure all staff employed by your organisation are entitled to work in the UK and to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in your business and any supply chains.

Additional Qualification elements are as follows:

The Tenderer must hold a valid Constructionline Registration.
The Tenderer must hold an accredited independent third party certificate of compliance with BS OHSAS 18001 / a relevant Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) certificate which includes Construction Contractor, Principal Contractor, CDMC, Designer, Group, and non-Construction as part of the SSIP audit.
The Tenderer must hold a valid ISO 9001 (Quality Management) certificate.
The Tenderer must hold a valid ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) certificate.
The Tenderer must have suitable BIM capability
