The project will evaluate and quantify the societal and economic impact of NERC funded research, with a focus on the impact delivered via:
| • | The benefits that NERC science provides to the UK public sector, through increased effectiveness of public services; |
| • | The benefits to UK companies through smart policies; and |
| • | The benefits, in terms of economically measurable environmental improvements, that policies based on NERC science generates for wider UK. |
International impacts can be part of the evaluation, in so far as it is possible to quantify their benefits to the UK.
