DHSC: Weight Management Services for Adult and Children

The DHSC invites potential bidders to express their interest in undertaking high level, overarching evaluations of government support for Tier 2 Weight Management Services provided for the 2021/22 Financial Year. There are 2 LOTS:

• a)Adult Tier 2 Weight Management Services - this should look across the piece to identify what can be learned from this one-year investment programme (£30.5m across local authorities in England)
• b)Child Tier 2 Weight Management Services - the evaluation should provide an overview of the processes and outcomes associated with £4.3m of funding provided to 11 local authorities to test new approaches to the recruitment of families and the provision of family-oriented services to underserved groups.

The requirement is for review and synthesis of existing M&E and evaluative research already embedded/planned supplemented by additional lines of enquiry to cover key evaluation questions and/or gaps in the existing evidence.

Budgets of £30K for each lot have been set to reflect the short time periods these evaluations should cover and the overarching nature of the work required.
