description
Cornwall College have been awarded a funding grant of c £11m to undertake an estate improvement and rationalisation project at their Camborne Campus, Cornwall. The grant follows an extensive and rigorous application process that the College have been through with the Department for Education (DfE) over the past 12-18 months.
Cornwall College's Camborne Campus is a large site with many buildings and facilities, and the existing estate ranges in both age and condition. The intent of the funding grant from the DfE is to make improvements to the College's facilities to ensure they can continue to offer first class Further Education teaching to the local community.
The project involves three key works packages - demolition, refurbishment of existing buildings and site infrastructure. These packages will be let as separate contracts.
This tender opportunity is for the refurbishment of existing buildings element of the project only, and will consist of an open two stage tender process with a contractor selected at the first stage to enter into a pre construction services agreement (PCSA) with the College to agree contract sums and programme for the three main contracts to be let under this tender.
The DfE funding grant agreement in place with Cornwall College is explicit that all works (and therefore funding expenditure) must be completed by August 2024. This is a hard stop date.
Cornwall College have appointed a team of professional consultants to deliver the project.
Further details on the team are included in this ITT.
