Event Catering Concessions 2022 - Car Boot Sales

Portsmouth City Council ('the Council') is seeking to appoint up to 3 operators (2 x food and drink and 1 x ice cream) to provide catering units/stands for weekly car boot sales at Duisburg Way, Southsea Common during 2022. The car boot takes place on a Sunday morning starting from 12th June 2022 through to 24th July, with potential for additional dates through to 25th September 2022 (weather and events permitting).

We are looking for 2 concessions to provide hot drinks and a suitable food offer for this weekly event and 1 ice cream van. The offer must be appropriate to the type and timing of these events and the customer base. The trading hours are 7am to 1pm and the site is located on Duisburg Way, Southsea. Operators are allowed on site half an hour outside of these times for set up / take down. We expect the catering trader to be available for the duration of the event.

The Duisburg Road site can accommodate approximately 130-150 spaces for cars to trade.

The two food concessions will be required to work in partnership, working alternate Sundays. The ice cream van will be required every Sunday the car boot is operational.

Operators are to provide a minimum income to the Council of ?140 + VAT per week.

Set out below is the proposed procurement timetable. This is intended as a guide and, whilst the Authority does not intend to depart from the timetable, it reserves the right to do so at any time.

Please note the timeframe is very condensed, with returns due in by WED 8th JUNE.
