description

Research and experimental development services. The potential value of data is being under-exploited and is going unrealised within the UK economy. Given that data is crucial to the development and innovation of data-driven technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), automation and robotics, this lack of data exploitation is hindering UK economic competitiveness and productivity.

The purpose of this research project is to gather practical evidence to better understand the private and third sector data foundations landscape. The project should explore: (i) what are the barriers to data foundations being adopted and how can we measure adoption, (ii) what can be done to overcome these barriers; and, (iii) the impact of improving data foundations on the adoption of AI and data-driven technologies and the participation in data markets.
