description

"We have around 1000 people in Area operations field teams who are organised within 14 areas. These people play a vital role in:

  • providing 24/7 response to flooding and pollution incidents;
  • maintaining our flood defence structures;
  • carrying out minor construction work; Our training programme carries seasonal constraints primarily due to the environment.

The purpose of this contract is to have a workforce that is:

  • Competent, safe and fully trained to a professional standard.
  • trained to a consistent standard to support the flexibility we need to move resources around the country for incident response.

We currently use Lantra and other accreditation bodies for basic training standards. The majority of training required through this framework relates to the operation of large plant and machinery; chainsaws and vegetation control.

We have our own plant and equipment, supplemented by a hire contract, which we can use to provide for training at our sites and depots. We also require the training provider to have access to their own training sites, plant and equipment when we’re unable to provide this.

Spend through this framework is estimated at £600K p.a. We cannot guarantee volumes of delegates or spend.

This requirement is split into two lots: Lot 1 High Risk Training & Lot 2 Medium/Lower Risk Training. "
