Public Health England (PHE) is planning to award a contract to Idexx Ltd for a unique quantification testing system for confirmed coliform bacteria and E. coli in water samples. The Food, Water and Environmental Microbiology Services laboratories process around 900 coliform and E.coli samples per calendar month. Quantification testing of these samples constitutes an essential part of their role.
The use of Idexx products by FWE allows them to meet their goal of providing expert advice on the threat to health from pathogens found in food, water and dairy products and how these can be identified and controlled.
The Idexx Colilert Quantitray system is the only solution which can meet our needs. The system provides results within eighteen hours or less, allowing FWE to meet its KPIs and perform an integral role in PHE's category one responses. No other quantification testing system of this type can match the speeds of the Idexx system.
