Multi-purpose sports facilities construction work (Sutcliffe Park)

Royal Greenwich is seeking to award a contract for the building of a single multi-purpose sport centre. The value of the project is estimated to be around £7m which includes the cost for subcontractors. The duration of the contract or time limit for completion of the works is 14 months.

The works will comprise the complete design, site clearance, de-contamination, construction, completion of the Works and defects rectification, including complying with all necessary Planning Reserve Matters and conditions, obtaining Building Regulation Approvals, Fire Officer's Approvals and recommendations and any other Statutory Approvals and Statutory Bodies Approvals complete, including the preparation of all necessary drawings, specifications, provisions of samples etc. and paying all costs and fees associated with such approvals and requirements.

The Contractor has sole responsibility for the detailed design and detailing of the works and the above procedure does not represent any 'approval' on the part of the Employer or EA. The contractor will also be responsible for liaising and working with the specialist suppliers, to ensure they are managed and the products are delivered in line with the critical path. In addition, the Contractor will be required to maintain landscaped areas during the Defects Liability Period of 12 months. This shall include regular watering, cutting and pruning, weeding, topping up of topsoil and mulch and general maintenance works. Defective shrubs, turf etc. will be replaced accordingly. The contract terms will be based on JCT Design and Build Contract 2011 Edition, including the amendments provided by the Employer.

Potential tenderers are note that the Royal Borough will be hosting a ‘meet the contractor’ event. All potential contractors are invited to send their representative to this event.
