Request for Information Termination of Pregnancy Service for Hartlepool & Stockton CCG and South Tees CCG

North of England Commissioning Support (NECS) are working for and on behalf of NHS Hartlepool and Stockton (HAST) Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS South Tees (STEES) CCG who propose to engage with the wider market to potentially inform future service model development and/or commissioning intentions for the provision of a Termination of Pregnancy service with a potential start date of April 2017.

The aim of the service will be to deliver a Termination of Pregnancy service based in each of the geographical localities of HAST and STEES CCGS.

The service objectives would be to:

Provide a consistent, comprehensive, effective, accessible, legal and appropriate abortion service to women within the Tees area:

• Termination of Pregnancy Service for 0-18 week gestation within South Tees
• Termination of Pregnancy Service for 18 + week gestation within South Tees
• Termination of Pregnancy Service for 18 + week gestation within HAST

Under the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 the contracting authorities must consider:

• How what is proposed to be procured might improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of the relevant area (area is the geographic area for which the procurement is taking place)
• How, in conducting the process of procurement, it might act with a view to securing the improvement.

Any tender document will be developed in such a way that responses will be tested on the above points.

Registering Interest & Market Engagement Exercise

The North of England Commissioning Support Service (NECS) is a commissioning support service hosted by NHS England and will run the tender process for and on behalf of NHS HAST and NHS STEES CCGs (the contracting authorities).

The CCG’s are seeking to obtain input and feedback from provider organisations as part of the development of potential service models for delivery of a Termination of Pregnancy Service.
