description

NOTE: This notice was updated on 10 December 2015 for the following reason: Added Access codeThe project involves the reconstruction of an approximate 30 metre long, retaining wall which varies in height from around 1800-2500mm. The wall forms the rear boundary of several properties belonging to Metropolitan Housing Trust, located within Atwater Close constructed c1960. The other side of the wall is the rear garden of a privately owned residence called 149 Upper Tulse Hill, which is a large detached Victorian property that has been converted into flats. The section of wall that is due to be rebuilt is estimated to have been built around the same time as Atwater Close, i.e. c1960.

The wall is significantly out of plumb and with many large cracks which have also displaced laterally as the wall has moved. The resultant damage has meant the wall is now quite unstable and is no longer fit for purpose. The works involve the careful demolition of this section of wall and the reconstruction using a reinforced concrete retaining wall, faced with suitably matching brickwork.

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
