description
This procurement is for WAN endpoint devices which can securely transfer the data from the BMS systems to the central servers using Direct Internet Access (DIA) connections. The DIA may be via a fixed wire or 4G.
The BCP Project has the following objectives.
| A. | Create a scalable design to support secure transfer of BMS data from remote sites to the hubs. |
| B. | Procure endpoint devices and licenses and securely hold on stock with the Service Provider for drawdown as the rollout programme progresses. Please note the Service Provider of the devices will not be expected to provide installation services for the remote sites. |
| C. | Procure endpoints for the hubs sized to match the connections from devices described in B above. (there are caveats to this objective see below in section 1.1.) |
| D. | Incorporate any existing deployed hardware from the PoC into the new support and maintenance arrangement. |
| E. | Provide a process for managing stock levels and re-ordering as appropriate. |
| F. | Provide a support and maintenance process which ensures the service is maintained within SLA. |
The following is excluded from the scope of this procurement:
| • | All site connectivity as far as the carrier NTE as this is covered by a previous procurement exercise. |
| • | Supply of SIM cards for data backup as this has been previously tendered. |
The Contract(s) with the successful Service Provider will last for an initial period of three years, with up to one extensions of up to two years each at L&Q's sole discretion, giving a total potential term of 5 years.
The Further Competition Procedure of the CCS Network Services (RM1045) Framework Agreement shall be followed for this procurement.
Further specification information is available in the procurement documentation.
