Summary
The National Employment Savings Trust (“NEST”) is a defined contribution trust based occupational pension scheme and is a qualifying scheme for auto-enrolment purposes under the Pensions Act 2008.
All tender documentation will be made available from our e-tendering platform BravoSolutions i.e. NEST eTendering Portal. Suppliers not registered will need to do so before accessing the documentation. Registration is free and will only take a few minutes. Failure to register will prevent your organisation participating.

Additional information: The establishment of NEST Corporation was provided for under statute (Pensions Act 2008). NEST Corporation operates at arm’s length from Government – it is neither a Government department, nor part of one. It is legally incorporated, has its own legal identity, employs its own staff and has been allocated and is responsible for its own budget. Its powers and obligations are set out in statute. It has been created as a public body, in particular an NDPB (and of the various types of NDPB, it is an Executive NDPB). As a public body it must comply with all legislation and guidance applicable to public bodies including that issued by Cabinet Office. In addition, as it is treated as a Public Corporation it must operate financial controls applicable to Public Corporations.
NEST is seeking an external provider to undertake Investment Governance Analysis and Assurance Consultancy Services.
The objective of this project is to review the governance structure of NEST’s investment process and to ensure that the division of the roles and responsibilities of the NEST Corporation Governing Body (NCGB), the in-house investment team and the Investment Committee (IC) is appropriate, in particular focusing on but not limited to:
- a.the resources available;
- b.the level of delegation;
- c.the interaction between the NCGB, IC and the investment team; and
- d.demarcation of responsibilities.
