The contract for the internal and external refurbishment of Redesdale Court, Reading, RG2 7UD with possible extension of contract to include Denton Court, Reading, RG2 7UB subject to successful completion of Redesdale Court.
The works (Redesdale Court) shall take place over a 55 week programme to 27No properties.
The works consist of both the internal and external refurbishment works including the removal of asbestos, complete replacement of non-loadbearing elevations to the front and rear elevations including insulation, windows and internally, electrical rewiring, new kitchens and bathrooms, carpet and/or laminate flooring all as detailed in the specification.
The form of contract is the JCT Intermediate Building Contract 2011. This is a 55 week contract with a start date of the 26 March 2018 and completion date of the 12 April 2019 and may be extended by a further 55 weeks to undertake the same work on an opposite handed identical neighbouring block at 92 - 144 Denton Court, commencing on 13 May 2019. There will be no partial completion for 92 - 144 Denton Court. The Start and Finish Dates are subject to change.
The Council estimates the contract value for one block to be between £1.4 million and £1.55 million.
The Council reserves the right to exclude from the evaluation bids above £1.55 million.
