The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead Council is looking for a street lighting contractor to partner in their “Invest to Save” initiative. The aim is to reduce the ongoing energy consumption and routine maintenance with a view to delivering cost savings.
The Contract will have the objective of achieving a minimum of 63% energy reduction compared with a 2015 benchmark and 100% conversion of street lighting luminaires to the proposed energy efficient solution.
As part of the tender return the contractor will be asked to propose his revised annual maintenance budget that he proposes to work to in order to effectively maintain the energy efficient solution they are proposing and also maintaining current service levels.
The Contractor provides the Service in order to achieve the following objectives:

| • | maintain illuminated street lighting stock in good condition |
| • | promote efficiencies and savings whilst maintaining levels of service |
| • | meet the stated KPI’s |
| • | maintain excellent customer and client relationships |
| • | control light levels using a CMS |
The estate currently consumes 6.2m kwh’s of electricity and generates 3300 tonnes of CO2 per annum.
There are 14545 Street Lights; 729 Traffic and other Bollards; 1598 illuminated signs; 674 Bulkhead & Subway Fittings and 63 Floodlights.
