14 101 Specialist Domiciliary Care and Support in a Supported Living Setting for an Adult with Autism

Cheshire East Borough Council is required to provide 24 hour care in an individual's own home and various community settings. The individual is a 22 year old male with physical and learning disabilities. He requires constant support and supervision including overnight care which will be provided via a combination of individual 1:1 support and shared care. A supported living setting in, or within a 20 mile radius of the Macclesfield area (within Cheshire East Borough area), sharing with 2-3 males of similar age and ability is required to meet the individual's assessed social care needs. The individual uses a motorised wheelchair to mobilise and therefore the accommodation needs to be fully wheelchair accessible and equipped with necessary adaptations to enable to individual to live as independently as possible. The individual's current accommodation has been adapted to include a through floor lift, widened doorways, hoist, grab rails, wet room facility and levelled floors to ensure free movement throughout the accommodation. Support staff will need to be skilled in working with adults with autism, complex learning and physical disabilities.
