Brief description:

This role is to manage and oversee the delivery of all major retrofit and improvement projects to Sandwell Housing Stock. As well as the day to day management of a team of experienced Major Project Managers the role is responsible for giving strategic oversight across all Major Projects being delivered by the team.

The role is responsible for:

• oEstablishing and managing a Competent Client function in accordance with CDM (2015) Regulations.
• omanaging the relationship with key internal and external stakeholders such as Urban Design, Principal Designers and Principal Contractors.
• oEstablishing and managing all appropriate documentation required to gain approval and then manage all major projects.
• oMonitoring and developing best practice within the team though tracking best practice outside of Sandwell.
• oEnsuring all relevant papers are developed for approval.
• oEnsuring all ongoing documentation is produced, obtained and stored where required and ensures all procurement and legislative requirements are met.
• oManaging all budgets associated with the areas of responsibility and monitors and reports any variations to budget and takes corrective action where required.

Experience and qualifications required

A relevant qualification in Major Projects Delivery Management or relevant industry experience; along with relevant experience in managing and running a team of surveyors, managing the delivery of significant regeneration and refurbishment projects within a Social Housing Landlord Function.
