Tameside and Glossop Alternative Provider Medical Services

NHS England, Greater Manchester are the accountable authority for the provision of local GP practice services in the Lancashire and Greater Manchester area and are in the process of reviewing current Alternative Provider Medical Services (APMS) contracts.

Under the co-commissioning arrangements in place from April 2015, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) have delegated responsibility and together with NHS England are currently reviewing a number of practices in the Greater Manchester Area.

NHS Tameside and Glossop CCG are proposing to commission x 4 Alternative Provider Medical Services (APMS) contracts which are currently delivered from:

(3134R /3144W*).

• Ashton GP Service, 193 Old Street, Ashton-Under-Lyne, OL6 7SR

(3146R / 3286W *).

• R=raw / W=weighted list size correct at 01.04.2016.

The aim of the services are to deliver essential, additional and enhanced services to registered patients of each practice.

It is proposed that the terms and conditions of service, including tariff arrangements, will reflect those contained in General Medical Services (GMS) contracts. The service specifications will be aligned to the strategic direction for Primary Care in Tameside and Glossop.

North of England Commissioning Support (NECS) is managing this process for and on behalf of NHS England Greater Manchester (the contracting authority).

It is intended as an awareness, communication and information gathering exercise. To help shape the commissioning decisions, the commissioners may also carry out further market engagement in the form of a Request for Information (RFI).
