description
The Harris, Museum, Art Gallery, and Library (the Harris) houses a permanent collection of fine art, decorative art, including textiles and fashion, and social history.
The Harris would like to appoint a conservation provider for the following services and treatment of approximately 371 objects that will feature in new displays when the Harris reopens in Summer 2024.
| Remedial conservation including but not limited to easel paintings, gilded picture frames, sculpture, history objects, ceramics and glass, costume and textiles. | |
| Technical services including glazing/reglazing of easel paintings and making necessary frame adjustments and repairs. | |
| Advice regarding targeted freezer treatment of at-risk textiles before they are returned to the Harris building. Costs relating to the hire of equipment and purchase of materials will be covered by the client. | |
| Support for the installation of costume, including padding for mannequins and hanging sleeves/supports for flat textiles. |
