description

To provide Mobile Sexual Health Service in County Durham.

Within County Durham, the overall aim of the service is to increase and widen access to SRE and sexual health services for young people aged 13-19 years in order to reduce the risk of unwanted conceptions and of contracting STIs.

Provider to deliver a Mobile Sexual Health Service, operating at targeted locations within County Durham: youth & community settings; colleges; schools; & other locations e.g. skate parks or fast food restaurant car parks, within teenage pregnancy ‘hot spot’ areas.

Provider to supply/maintain any vehicles used to provide service, (responsible for vehicle taxation, insurance, repairs, maintenance, driver licence checks/qualifications, liable for any driver infringements and car parking charges).

Providing sexual health services including C-Card and chlamydia screening and refer to Contraception and Sexual Health (CASH) services. Deliver a Sex and Relationship Education programme. A minimum of two suitably qualified youth workers to deliver sessions.

Provider must deliver a minimum of four sexual health sessions per week, each lasting three hours, over 42 weeks of year (i.e. excluding school holiday periods). During these sessions, the Mobile Sexual Health Service may be delivered at two or three different locations within a specific area (usually evenings and weekends).

To work with local services/agencies e.g. schools, Durham Constabulary, the One Point Service, school nursing service and local Health staff. Attend multi-agency meetings and take part in multi-agency health events. Utilise a suitable Information Management and Technology software system that will support data collection/reporting and the secure storage of confidential service user notes. Collect quality and performance monitoring data according to Durham County Council requirements and submit this in accordance with agreed timescales.

The Council believes TUPE 2006 applied to this contract and requested bidders to undertake due diligence in this regard.
