description

This Request for Quotation (RFQ) is for a community heritage project which aims to enhance public awareness, promotion, and protection, of Folkestone's rich, yet undervalued heritage. Saint Eanswythe is the focal point around which this project revolves; she lived at a pivotal time and place in the early history of Anglo-Saxon England.

This project is led by Canterbury Christ Church University in collaboration with a range of organisations and groups including Folkestone People's History Centre, Folkestone Research and Archaeology Group, local schools and colleges, local authorities, community, history and heritage groups. The project is based in Folkestone, Kent, and its surrounding hinterland.

The project is seeking to recruit archaeological services from CIFA accredited organisations to undertake a series of community archaeology activities across an 18-month period, beginning in August 2017.
