description
The purpose of this soft market test exercise is to explain to suppliers the ambition, technical requirements and the expected scope of the public access I.T. provision replacement across the Public Library estate. We are looking for suppliers to explain products and solutions they have that will help the Cambridgeshire County Council achieve its aims.
The Council is looking for a replacement public access I.T. solution and require a modern, flexible, secure, scalable and cost-effective solution. Where possible, the solution should align with the Cloud first principles agreed as part of the IT Strategy and will support the services that users consume as they move to an increasingly cloud based/hosted model. If this isn't possible then we would like to see the roadmap for the system and whether cloud/hosted features are included in future aspirations.
It is expected that as well as replacing and adding to the devices that are used by the general public, the PCs used by staff will be catered for too. As present these are used to manage the current PC booking system as well as other services in use in libraries, see the integrations tab in the attached spreadsheet.
In terms of networking, CCC are committed to moving away from MPLS (traditional LAN/WAN) to a DIA (direct internet access) model.
- other Local Authorities that have expressed a desire to be named and receive the results of the soft market test, including Coventry, Liverpool, Newcastle, Warwickshire and West Sussex.
