C20211038 Social Mobility Partnership

Ofcom requires support for our Diversity & Inclusion Strategy and commitments, and we are now looking to build on this work and partner with a specialist organisation to assist us in scaling our social outreach activities, with a specific focus on building a pipeline of socially diverse talent for our entry level development programmes across both Apprenticeship and Graduate schemes plus other entry level opportunities. Historically we have recruited Apprentices across a number of different Groups in Ofcom, namely, Policy, Spectrum and Economics, with a yearly intake on average of 10 new apprentices. This number is likely to grow over the next few years as we look to bolster our entry level talent requirements and focus our attention on improving social diversity and mobility. We are looking for an organisation that can represent us across the UK, providing us with access to school leavers across the country, helping us to target specific geographical areas and educational establishments with low levels of social mobility (also known as social mobility 'cold spots').

The contractor provides pre-emptive training & development for participants on the scheme, preparing them for the world of work and engaging them in the variety of opportunities on offer to them in relation to starting their career with Ofcom.

As part of this, we would also like to access development opportunities for our management group, upskilling their knowledge in the area of social diversity and mobility and equipping them with the right skills to ensure new entrants to Ofcom that are recruited through our work, are set up for success in their new roles
