description
Staffordshire County Council (SCC) would like to hear from Providers who have the skills and knowledge to deliver a Citizens Inquiry Programme to support the work of Better Health Staffordshire (BHS).
The aim of the Programme is to create the conditions to engage, involve and empower communities to understand, prioritise and co-produce solutions to address 'what communities and organisations can do together to help people be healthy, with a focus on healthy weight and active lifestyle'.
The outcomes of the Programme will support the aims and objectives of Better Health Staffordshire. BHS seeks to create system networks where partners and communities work collectively, over the long term, to develop, implement and evaluate a shared vision and actions which tackle the causes of obesity and promote a healthy weight and an active lifestyle.
Living with obesity is associated with reduced life expectancy and is a risk factor for a range of chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, some forms of cancer, liver and respiratory disease. It can also impact on mental health. The COVID-19 pandemic has placed an even greater emphasis on the benefits of living healthier lives; with studies reporting an increased risk of adverse outcomes for people living with obesity.
There are three Lots. Potential Providers can bid for one, two or all three Lots:
| • | Cannock Chase (Lot One) |
| • | East Staffordshire (Lot Two) |
| • | Staffordshire Moorlands (Lot Three) |
SCC will purchase one Programme per lot. SCC recognise that additional Citizens Inquiry activity may be required to ensure a wide range of citizens views and experiences are captured. Any additional activity will be agreed, with the successful Provider(s) following the submission of the initial insight report. The maximum budget available per lot is £20,000 which would cover the Citizen Inquiry Programme and if applicable, any additional citizen inquiry activity.
