description
NPL's requirement is a thermal cycle chamber for rapid increasing or decreasing temperature inside the chamber over a range of -70°C to 180°C, ideally with a 10°C/minute change rate. The purpose is to evaluate mechanical reliability of electronic circuits with a typical load being below 5kg of PCAs.
NPL's requirement is to test thermo-mechanical reliability of electronic assemblies by subjecting them to regular thermal excursions across an extended operational range. The tests we will run will be used to test high reliability electronics and electrical system from manufacturers for their type approval testing.
Similar systems are used within the industry to provide fitness for purpose testing for new designs and material combinations. The innovative metrology developed by NPL for high temperature materials and manufacturing techniques, is required for electric and hybrid development, oil/gas, and aerospace partners. This is required for benchmarking against these widely accepted industry standards.
