description
The Target Hardening (Sanctuary) Scheme is a multi-agency victim / survivor centred initiative which aims to enable households at risk of violence to remain safely in their own homes. Government guidelines support the safe establishment of Target Hardening (Sanctuary) schemes in Local Authority areas.
This contract will deliver specialist a target hardening scheme to victims / survivors of Domestic Violence who wish to remain in their homes in Kingston. This will be achieved by the delivery of high quality risk assessments and the provision of enhanced security to homes (for example, additional locks on doors and windows, fireproof letter boxes, stronger former doors and creation of safe rooms or spaces).
Target Hardening (Sanctuary) should be available to households and individuals where the following apply:
- It is the victim / survivor's choice to remain in the property - they are aware of other options available to them and have chosen to have a Target Hardening (Sanctuary) installation
- The perpetrator is no longer living at the property
- The Kingston DV Hub has had direct contact with the victim /survivor of violence, and assessed their wider needs
