Recommissioning Older Peoples and Working Aged Adults Residential and Nursing Care in Medway

Medway Council and NHS Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group are beginning the process to re-procure residential and nursing care for older people and working aged adults in Medway. Over the coming weeks we plan to reach specific groups and involve them as far as possible to inform the future of these services. Feedback from service users, providers and stakeholders will be collated and used to develop the service specification. Contracts are planned to go live in the summer of 2021.

The Council and CCG are committed to involving local people in shaping the services they receive. Public engagement is one of the key ways the Council and CCG interact with local communities, residents and businesses.

As part of this engagement Medway Council have already issued a request for information to providers (link can be found in the links section at the end of this notice). Furthermore, we will be holding market engagement events for providers on Wednesday 26th August 2020 using the Microsoft Teams software application.

Discussion topics will include:

• the service model
• costs
• service user outcomes
• pathways
• top up policy
• question and answer session
