Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced organisation to deliver the provision of conferencing facilities for the Council's SHAPE Programme for Children and Young People.

The SHAPE Programme is a "child's voice" initiative led by SMBC. One of the key events within the programme is the engagement of children and young people through their local schools at a conference. Separate primary and secondary school conferences are held in the summer term.

The SHAPE Programme has additionally introduced a conference for the STEPs (Sandwell Transitional Educational Partnerships) Centre which offers support to children and their families; new to Sandwell and the UK, who speak English as an additional language. attend Virtual School in Sandwell.

The conferences are avenues to bring young people together from across the Borough with the aim of supporting them to learn from each other, and to discuss how schools may be tackling key issues affecting children and young people today.

The conferences will also raise awareness of these issues through guest speakers, interactive workshops and activities, and though engagement and consultation.
