Peterborough City Council's Care & Repair team will be establishing a provider list so that it may award Works contracts for handyperson services.
The overall aim of the Works will be to assist and support elderly, vulnerable and disabled local residents (adults and children) to live independently and be warm and safe.
The Handyperson Works Contracts to be awarded will deliver general minor Works in the homes elderly, vulnerable and disabled local residents (adults and children).
To raise awareness and encourage participation, Peterborough City Council would like to invite all interested suppliers to a provider event.
The aims of the event will be:
- To provide further details on Care & Repair and the scope of the Handyperson Services Referral List.
- To explain what the Referral List is and how it will be used to award contracts.
- To explain the procurement process used to establish the Referral List, including an introduction to Invitation to Tender documents.
- To provide an overview of the ProContract system which will be used to host the procurement process, and assist providers in registering for an account.
The Provider Event will take place on 19 January 2024, in the Council Chamber, Town Hall, 49-31 Bridge St, Peterborough, PE1 1HA.
If you would like to attend, please express interest via the ProContract advert. Note, your expression of interest will link to any forthcoming Procurement activity and is purely to demonstrate interest in this Provider Event.
In the interest of aiding potential Providers to decide whether this opportunity will be appropriate for them, the Authority can confirm the following regarding payment for the Works to be delivered via the Referral List:
The labour costs are paid for under the scheme, but the Care & Repair client must pay for any materials required. All Contractors are employed on a self- employed basis, as and when required, at an hourly rate of £25.00 per hour, inclusive of all costs e.g., mileage, NI, TAX and small sundry items.
