description
Lot 1: Pre-qualification Test Supply Rig - for testing of submarine export cables in alternating current (AC). Able to accommodate testing of cables up to a maximum length of 150m with potential voltage levels of interest. This will also be used to test cables with simulated submarine operational stresses including accelerated aging and thermal cycling.
Lot 2 - High Current Induction Rig - able to accommodate testing of cables up to a maximum length of150m with potential voltage levels of interest. This will also be used to test cables with simulated submarine operational stresses including accelerated aging and thermal cycling; and
Lot 3 - Upgrade of existing laboratory equipment for superimposed impulse testing of HVDC cables - using the ORE Catapult' existing 1 MV DC power supply to carry out superimposed impulse testing.
This shall include the provision of suitable data acquisition and measurement systems associated with Lots 1 &2.
