description

This work is to undertake an innovative monitoring and modeling study in Sheffield to understand in more detail the sources contributing to the measurements made in the area. Measurements in the last 4 years have been close to, or over, the EU target value for Ni (exceeded in 2013) triggering Defra's need to publish Reports on Measures to the commission detailing how the UK plan to tackle and reduce the concentrations in the area.

This study uses an innovative mobile assessment unit to identify local sources of pollution by coupling high time resolution measurements with meteorological data and modeling to map sources of contributions geographically around the monitoring site.
