description
Pebworth is located in Worcestershire and is looking to regenerate some of its current play equipment at The Close Playing Field, Chapel Rd, Pebworth CV37 8XA. This is being funded mainly through a Community Legacy Grant from Worcestershire County Council and as such needs to provide a long lasting, innovative and engaging scheme which will provide a wide range of play opportunities and challenges for children of all abilities aged up to 16. In addition, the scheme should demonstrate that each item of equipment and the overall design:
| - | Offers physically challenging play which will develop physical strength and ability for all ages and abilities. |
| - | Encourages social interaction and play between all ages and abilities |
| - | Offers a range of opportunities for play which will include balance and coordination. |
| - | The scheme should be visually appealing, exciting, challenging, stimulating and engaging |
Equipment should replace the current wooden equipment:
| - | Multi play item to provide various play features for sliding, climbing, rope play, balance and have multi-access points for ages 3 upwards. |
| - | A zip wire |
| - | A wendy house |
| - | A horse and carriage |
and we are looking for modern items of play equipment to replace those listed above which meet the play criteria. We also want to include appropriate, long lasting play surfacing for the new play items supplied
It is a requirement that the new equipment will be independently inspected following installation.
Whilst the above statement of requirements has been determined via community consultation, should any prospective respondents feel there is either a better way to implement the suggested equipment or a more diverse choice of equipment available, we are willing to listen and consider this but do ask that the requested configuration is responded to in the first instance.
Pebworth Parish Council is looking for a play area design with the highest play value and which offers best value for money and can demonstrate it caters for children with disabilities. The Council is not obliged to accept the lowest, or any quotation. It is expected the Contractor awarded the project will take down the current play equipment however it will be disposed of by the Parish Council. The proposed total budget is £80,000.
The Parish Clerk will meet on site on:
Thursday 13th October at 11am followed by a discussion in the Village Hall.
You must provide a specification, quotation and design for the supply and installation of equipment by email, 12:00 noon on Friday 25th November to:
clerk@pebworthparishcouncil.co.uk.
A3 dimensional images are also accepted and should be delivered to:
