Fire Door Upgrades and Installations:

The contract duration will be for two years with the option to extend for a further one year, subject to continuous satisfactory performance and completion of an annual performance review. The anticipated start date for the Contract shall be the 19th December 2015.

The Contract value is £800,000.00 for year one and approximately £740,000.00 for year two of the Contract. It must be noted that these figures are inclusive of VAT and are in no way guaranteed.

Midland Heart will be looking for the service provider to carry out the following of which will be included within the price:

Surveys on site to ascertain the size and type of door sets required
Supply and delivery to site of the door sets
Supply, delivery and installation to site of the door sets
Supply and delivery to stores of the door sets

The majority of fire doors will be maintained to offer fire and smoke protection within occupied domestic properties, either in communal areas and / or within individual dwellings such as flats, bungalows and 3 storey properties in rooms and floors where there is a potential source of fire and smoke.

The majority of installations will be for domestic properties; however there may also be a requirement for installation within void properties.

The majority of fire doors will be a standard size FD30 and FD60, but there may be a requirement for bespoke size doors at which point Midland Heart may request a separate quotation.

All fire doors / sets must be delivered on time and in full, components should not be

delivered to site that cannot be installed immediately, as storage may be an issue. It must be noted that repair works will be required to the majority of the stock that will involve ‘repair’ work making the door compliant. These works will typically involve the following:

Fire rated ironmongery
Intumescent strips
Intumescent letter box
Door closers
Correct fitting of door to existing frame

The Contract will cover Midland Hearts Customer and Communities properties, Care and Support properties and Leasehold properties. The start date will be staggered for the Leasehold properties whilst Midland Heart completes Section 20 Consultation.

The contract duration will be for two years with the option to extend for a further one year, subject to continuous satisfactory performance and completion of an annual performance review. The anticipated start date for the Contract shall be the 19th December 2015 for Customer and Communities and Care and Support properties, the Leasehold properties will be handed over as soon as possible after the 19th December 2015 once the Section 20 Consultation has concluded.
