Cefas has contracted a supplier for the delivery of estimates for England and Wales (E&W)1 of catches and expenditure made by recreational sea fishing by identifying and gaining agreement from a minimum representative sample of recreational sea fishers in E&W in autumn 2021 to complete a catch diary in 2022. This should build on the current survey to ensure continuity of diarists. The current requirement is in two parts, which will be awarded as one contract. The first part is the survey that will identify a representative sample of people who go recreational sea fishing in the UK. The second part is to run the sea angling diary and provide the results.
