description
The project will be the first major exhibition at Wakefield Exchange which is due to open March 2025. The building, once the city's former Market Hall, has now been converted into a dynamic creative hub offering a lively and communal cultural space for residents, visitors and local businesses in the heart of the city.
The exhibition and new artwork will be informed by an extensive programme of artist-led workshops focussed on local disabled community groups and artists. Other sculptures by the artist will also be included in the exhibition alongside interactive multimedia digital projections using cutting edge technologies and production methods.
Alongside the exhibition there will be extensive community and school engagement, a district-wide touring showcase of the artist's earlier work and a mentoring programme with micro commissions for local disabled artists.
