description
Local authorities have a legal duty to commission human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) prevention, sexual health promotion, open access services for sexually transmitted infection, and contraception for all age groups. These include free testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, notification of sexual partners of infected persons, free provision of contraception as well as the provision of information, advice and support on a range of issues, such as sexually transmitted infections (STIs), contraception, relationships and unplanned pregnancy.
The London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham (LBBD), Havering (LBH) and Redbridge (LBR) will be jointly procuring an Integrated Sexual Health Service (ISHS) and Chlamydia Screening service for Redbridge population during 2017/2018.
The aim of the service is to deliver an integrated sexual health service to the population of Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge. The service will be comprehensive, evidence based, accessible, respect client confidentiality, high quality, responsive to client needs and cost-effective. The delivered service will support sexual health and wellbeing, provide the full range of contraceptive methods and screen, diagnose and treat sexually transmitted diseases including Chlamydia. It will also support the delivery of sexual health services in primary care and other community settings through the provision of professional training.
The Councils invite suitably qualified service providers to attend a market engagement event outlining our procurement intentions for the provision of ISHS within the three boroughs. The event will be held between 9:30am and 11:30pm on Monday 2 October 2017 at Room CR3b, Romford Town Hall RM1 3BD.
This event will offer an opportunity to inform providers of the Councils' vision for services, the tendering process and timetable for procurement. There will also be opportunity for providers to seek clarity on the model, ask questions and make comments where appropriate.
This exercise is not part of any pre-qualification or selection process. It is intended as an awareness, communication and information-gathering exercise offering an opportunity for potential providers to help understand commissioning intentions and offer opportunities for potential future providers to network, forge partnerships and start thinking about service delivery models.
Organisations interested in attending the event should confirm their attendance by emailing Adebimpe.winjobi@elevateeastlondon.co.uk. latest by 10:00am Friday 29 September 2017. Please note that spaces are limited and organisations are asked to send no more than two (2) representatives to the event. Please include the job titles/roles of attendees and their contact details, to ensure the sessions are planned effectively and enable us to make contact with attendees should there be any unforeseen circumstances.
