Worcestershire Young Onset Dementia Community Support

This is an Advert for Soft Market Testing to gauge market interest which will influence future Commissioning and Procurement Direction.

NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (MLCSU) on behalf of NHS South Worcestershire, NHS Redditch and Bromsgrove and NHS Wyre Forest Clinical Commissioning Group (the CCGs) and Worcestershire County Council (WCC) are seeking Expressions of interest for the provision of a Young Onset Dementia Community Support service in Worcestershire.

The CCGs and WCC have reviewed provision of the Young Onset Dementia Support Service. The current Connected community support service has been running for 5 years now and is well established and regarded as an integral part of the dementia pathway, specifically for people with Young Onset Dementia, providing post diagnostic support to help people living with dementia and their carer's to reduce social isolation and maintain independence. At present the one to one service has a capacity of about 30 people which is around 7% of the total population of people living with Young Onset Dementia in Worcestershire. The Commissioners would like to see access to this service grow through self-funding initiatives.

The CCG and WCC would like to assess current market appetite to provide this service. The outcomes of the event will then determine next steps.

Providers are invited to a Market Engagement event which will be held on Tuesday 19th July 2016 at 15.00hrs to 17.00hrs at Worcestershire County Council Chambers.
