description
Reinstatement of section of collapsed quay wall by construction of a section of plain concrete gravity retaining wall. The ground behind the failed section will be excavated to remove loose/displaced materials and prepare a working platform at the foundation level. The new wall will be formed in lifts. Stone facing will be fixed to the full height of the wall. The concrete hardstanding surface across the upper quayside level will be reinstated. The damaged marina pontoons will be removed and replaced with new pontoons. The section of wall to the east of the collapse shall be locally dismantled rebuilt and repointed. Repairs to the section of wall to the west of the collapse are also being considered as a provisional item.
