description
Leicester City Council invites Tenders for the provision of a Children's Health & Wellbeing Survey.
The successful company is to design, execute and report on a population survey with children and young people (specific school year groups of 6,8 &10) and conduct a maximum of 6 focus groups with communities of interest.
We expect to receive a clear brief outlining how our requirements and timescale can be met. The brief should emphasise previous experience of this type of project and relevant expertise of staff in relation to research and working with children and young people. Particular attention should be devoted to specifying how you will ensure that a representative sample of children and young people are recruited to take part in the research process.
Please note that we would also expect regular progress reports and an interim presentation following the headline findings as well as a final presentation at the end of the research process.
The key objectives are:
To design, conduct and report on a high quality cross-sectional survey of health and wellbeing behaviours and attitudes in the Leicester population aged 10 to 15 years mainly focusing on the areas indicated.
To use validated questions and provide data that allows meaningful comparison with key local, national and international surveys of the health and wellbeing of children and young people.
To develop a sample that within available resources is appropriately powered to allow meaningful comparisons and conclusions.
To provide regular updates and two presentations as specified.
To provide a full individual level dataset of results with appropriate metadata to allow further analysis by Leicester City Council.
To deliver the research in accordance with the timescale set out below
To complement the adult Health and Wellbeing survey which has recently been commissioned
Please note that we particular welcome applications aiming to progress the research expediently.
Tenders must be uploaded no later than 12:00(noon) on Wednesday 8th July 2015.
