Recycling, Waste and Street Cleansing Services Market Engagement March 2022

Our current contract includes the following services and is due to end in October 2023:

1. Recycling and waste collections from households
2. Operation of HWRCs
3. Street Cleansing
4. Winter services
5. Public toilet cleansing
6. Weed Spraying

Potential bidders are invited to attend one of our early market engagement sessions (1-1 meetings between the Council Project Team and Bidding team). These are going to be held on the 31st March and 1st April at Southend City Council Civic Centre.

We are looking for bidders to prepare for a discussion on the following:

1. Collection Methodologies
2. Environmental Sustainability
3. Customer Experience
4. Financial Sustainability

A briefing pack will be supplied in advance of the sessions to allow bidders the time to prepare. Please note that depending on the level of interest from the market we may not be able to engage with all bidders at this stage. There will be other opportunities to input into the process.

We would ask that a formal expression of interest to attend one of the above dates is provided as soon as possible. Please email recyclingandwastequeries@southend.gov.uk to confirm your interest and please provide the following:

5. Date of preference (or either) -31st March and 1st April.
