Invitation to Tender for Asbestos Removal

Introduction

Ipswich Borough Council is responsible for the maintenance and repair of their Portfolio of Domestic and Sheltered Housing Schemes and possibly Corporate Buildings as and when required within the Ipswich Area.

The Works

Provision of all works/services necessary to execute the removal or repair of asbestos containing materials as and when required by Ipswich Borough Council within its property portfolio of Domestic and Sheltered Housing Schemes within the Ipswich Borough Council Area.

Any claims for want of knowledge will not be considered. The Bidder will have been deemed to have satisfied themselves as to the conditions and area of the Works, for which they have tendered.

Contractors must be aware that properties maybe occupied at all times. It will be a priority for the Contractors workforce to maintain free access for tenants and visitors whilst the works/services are in hand, or provide alternative and safe passage around the working areas.

The works/services will be carried out under the direction of the Maintenance and Contracts (M&C) and other staff within this Section.

Contract Duration

The duration of the Contract is three (3) years from the date of award, with the option for one one-year extensions. This is subject to performance.
