Burniston Parish Council verge/grounds contract

Burniston Parish Council is inviting Fixed Price Tenders for grass cutting/grounds maintenance in the civil parish of Burniston (Scarborough, North Yorkshire), for a period of two years (2021/22 and 2022/23) with an option to extend.

The fixed price should be from the 1st April 2021 - 31st March 2022 with increases for future years not to exceed increases in the consumer price index (CPI) change over 12 month figure commencing with the figure released in February 2022, and at the discretion of the Parish Council. The contract will commence on the 1st April 2021.

Burniston Parish Council reserves the right to remove any area from the schedule at any time. Areas may be added to the schedule by negotiation.

All tenders must contain the total price for the year 2021 and be broken down into price per cut, as Burniston Parish Council may require extra cuts over and above the schedule.

In general, grass should be cut to an approximate height of 30mm, allowing for a maximum growth height of 45mm between cuts.

The areas to be cut are shown on the enclosed maps.

Tenders should be returned to the Clerk to Burniston Parish Council, 41 Scalby Road, Burniston, Scarborough, YO13 0HN email clerk@burnistonparishcouncil.org.uk by 6pm on 18th December 2020.

Additional information: Contractors should be aware that Burniston Parish Council is in negotiations to take over an established area of grassed public open space of approx. 850m2 which will require regular cutting. This area is not included within the current documentation but Council may wish to add it to any contract awarded (subject to an acceptable price being agreed).
