BAE SYSTEMS APPLIED INTELLIGENCE LIMITED £990,000 31 Aug 2020 active

description

Public Health England, an executive agency of the Department of Health and Social and Social Care (DH) (hereafter referred to as "Public Health England" or "PHE" also referred to as the "Contracting Authority" or the "Authority" or the "Employer") have awarded BAE Systems Applied Intelligence Limited a two year Call-Off Contract with the option to extend a further two years year via G-Cloud 11 Framework Agreement (RM1557.11). BAE developed and provide 3rd line support to Second Generation Surveillance System (SGSS) Solution. The solution is responsible for capturing and transferring information relating to the spread of infectious diseases using the results of medical test data from laboratories, including Covid-19. These results are delivered to the SGSS solution via file transfer. The SGSS currently process significantly more results than it was designed for (20k results per day), and this figure is set to grow in line with the governments 'winter readiness programme' and then further with project 'moon shot', which sets out to test between 5-9 million people daily.

SGSS workstreams:

1-A workstream of analysis / elaboration / design to help understand existing limitations and performance bottlenecks.
2-A workstream of continuous system performance improvements to the existing solution hosted 'on prem' at PHE.
3-Supporting a third party, contracted through PHE, in migrating the existing solution to the cloud and supporting transition to the cloud service, including uplifts to the application in order to support new OS versions and etc.
