CEFAS24-26 Contract for BEEMS Compensation Expert (Seagrass)

The BEEMS (British Energy Estuarine and Marine Studies) programme is funded by NNB GenCo (EDF Energy). Through this programme, Cefas provide authoritative scientific information on the marine and transitional waters in the vicinity of potential new build nuclear power stations and require a competent Contractor to deliver the element described below.

Requirement:

Cefas require the supplier to provide technical advice under the Hinkley Point C Compensation Measures project.

Key areas for technical advice will be as follows:

Alongside desk-based requirements, there is potential for the supplier to join ground truthing or drone surveys at potential restoration zones. If attendance is not possible, remote support may be necessary. The supplier's expertise may be necessary from the planning and execution phases. Any fieldwork related Health and Safety will be governed by existing Risk Assessments and Method Statements which have been agreed with NNB GenCo.

Attendance, where practical, at the Seagrass Habitat Working Group meetings with Cefas, NNB GenCo (HPC) and other project stakeholders.

It is anticipated that the vast majority of work under this project will be remote, however some travel may be necessary. Where possible, Cefas will book and pre-pay travel and accommodation as required. Any further reasonable travel and subsistence expenses will be reimbursed against valid receipts or other acceptable evidence of expenditure. The supplier will liaise with Eva Maher of Cefas on all matters relating to travel, accommodation and other expenses
