description

The Department for Transport requires the following:-

  1. The routing of all incoming and outgoing calls,
  2. Sufficient network / circuit capacity to handle all calls,
  3. Audio Conference service.

The Department for Transport (DfT(C)) currently supplies a telephony service to both the Department and HS2 Ltd. Over 3,000 extensions are provided on a Mitel 3300 IP system in five main sites in London and Hastings.

Other smaller sites outside of London either have their own PSTN number range mapped on to the DfT(C) 020 7944 extensions or are connected via the DfT WAN.

There are currently five dedicated incoming circuits (150 channels) and 8 outgoing circuits (240 channels).
