The aim of Community Learning funding is to deliver unique flexible focussed provision to adults, not fundable from other Further Education (FE) budgets, to develop the skills, confidence, motivation and resilience of adults of different ages and backgrounds in order to:
| • | improve their health and well-being, including mental health |
| • | progress towards formal learning or employment |
| • | develop stronger communities |
We are procuring for delivery of services in the geographical area of Somerset only. When we refer to 'Somerset' in this document or any of the other procurement documents, we mean the geographical area covered by the five districts and two unitary authorities set out below.
Somerset is comprised of a two-tier non-metropolitan county, administered by Somerset County Council and five district councils, and two unitary authority areas. The five districts of Somerset are West Somerset, South Somerset, Taunton Deane, Mendip, and Sedgemoor. The two unitary authorities are North Somerset and Bath & North East Somerset.
