**UPDATE**
Given the current Coronavirus Outbreak and associated restrictions, the following changes have been made to the ITT. Please see update attached to this notice for further details (11.05.20):
The Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education invites you to tender for the following project at its Grimsby site:
The project comprises internal alterations and refurbishment to provide new and upgraded teaching and learning accommodation, main entrance alterations, window replacement, plant room works and re-roofing works
Background: The TEC Partnership is part of a unique collaboration between higher and further education providers and employers to establish an Institute of Technology (IoT) in Lincolnshire. The IoT will specialise in delivering higher-level technical skills which aim to help close skills gaps and improve productivity. The TEC Partnership has been awarded capital funds totalling £2.9m, which includes a range of developments. This tender is specific to redevelop the 2nd floor of M Block on the Nuns Corner Campus in Grimsby, as a key component of the IoT.
Some of the works is anticipated to be part funded by ERDF, through the Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire project via the Lincolnshire LEP. The project (Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire) has received £5.4m (of a total programme value of £9.2m) of funding from the England European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020. The Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government is the Managing Authority for European Regional Development Fund. Established by the European Union, the European Regional Development Fund helps local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support innovation, businesses, create jobs and local community regenerations. For more information visit https://www.gov.uk/european-growth-funding.
The Smart Energy programme aims to develop and deliver highly innovative energy efficiency, smart energy management, and renewable energy projects for public buildings in Greater Lincolnshire. The upgraded public buildings will be used for demonstration and case studies. Our success will be measured by energy use and reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, and by increased awareness of best practice across Greater Lincolnshire.
The contract will be awarded to the most economically advantageous tender applying the award criteria and evaluation methodology provided in Appendix 4 of the ITT. 50% cost / 50% quality.
