description

The Purchaser is inviting tenders for the supply of a low cost, fast turnaround, cryogen-free cryostat with a base temperature below 2 K.

This scientific equipment will be used for rapid testing of nanoelectronic samples and for developing cold electronics that will later be used inside a cryogen-free dilution refrigerator. The system should provide a sample environment similar to the 3K/still stages of a cryogen-free dilution refrigerator: namely, a relatively large (several litre) cold sample volume with ~mW cooling power close to 1 K and ~100mW cooling power at 2 K, and with comparable levels of vibration
