Study to determine which parts of the UK automotive composites supply chain could be targeted for UK manufacture including those parts of the supply chain which should be targeted for the Tees Valley.
Additional information: The proposed work will provide Tees Valley Unlimited and UKTI with an understanding of which parts of the UK automotive composites supply chain could be targeted for UK manufacture. It will provide information from each part of the automotive composites supply chain describing the current challenges and gaps being faced and work being done to reduce cost and to facilitate introduction of automotive composite parts into new and existing models. This will include detailed information on energy requirements and cost of energy. It will provide comparisons between the perceived cost of UK production and the reality as well as, where possible, provide comparisons with other countries.
