description

This is a contract award notice. NHS Basildon and Brentwood Clinical Commissioning Group ("The CCG") has made a decision to award Acute Home Visiting Service (AVHS) in Basildon and Brentwood to BB Healthcare Solutions for a period of 7 months, commencing 1st September 2019. This contract notice is not as a result of the contract notice published on 25th July 2019. The procurement process linked to that contract notice was cancelled. The CCG intends to commence an engagement process with interested providers to consider future service provision and the strategic direction of PCNs and the out of hospital model as well as completing a full evaluation of the pilot service. Further details will be communicated via new Contract Notice in due course.

The AVHS service has been developed to support the sustainability of transformation of primary care in Basildon and Brentwood. It will provide support to member GP practices in managing increasing levels of need and demand among their registered population; facilitate rapid access to home visiting services to house bound patients requiring urgent consultation; and inform analysis of current patterns and drivers of home visiting, in order to support future appropriate reductions in visit rates. The provision of support in this area is in-line with the relevant GMS/PMS clauses relating to Home Visiting requirements.

The CCG made a decision to award the contract to BB Healthcare Solutions to support existing investment and determine the most effective long-term model to support the sustainability and transformation of primary care and to ensure the continuity of service provision for the CCG population over the short period to 31 March 2020. This decision optimises the use of CCG management resources, seeking longer term benefits for the population.
